As part of the research selected participants are invited to partake in the storytelling workshops. These workshops use a combination of pre-existing stories about the area of Milton Keynes, and the participants own experience of the new town to develop their own storytelling skills. The workshops will encourage participants to create a story which they can tell in person as well as a digital story created on the computer and published online.
The workshop were as follows:
Introductory session: 23rd October. 1hr. 7.30-8.30pm
This will be a meet and greet between facilitator and participants, to feed out more about the project and some preparation work for the following workshops.
Workshop 1: 30th October. 2hr. 7.30-9.30pm
An introduction to the skills needed in for oral storytelling, such as finding a story, breaking it down, and making it your own.
Workshop 2: 6th November. 2hr. 7.30-9.30pm
This session focuses on developing your chosen story, think about how to present it, and how to tailor your presentation to your audience.
Workshop 3: 13th November. 2hr. 7.30-9.30pm
Building on the preparation work from previous weeks, this session will look at communication and basic performance skills to deliver your chosen story.
Workshop 4: 20th November. 2hr. 7.30-9.30pm
Presentation of stories, and group feedback on the process and stories.
Review session: To be arranged with participants for 1:1 feedback
These review sessions will involve participants reflective feedback on their own oral and digital stories.

This day will focus on creating and developing a digital personal story focusing on your feelings and memories of Milton Keynes. This will involve basic software training, participant photos (please bring as hard copy or on a USB stick), and voice recording.
